About

Docs are a lagging indicator of whoever had free time last week.

Every team we've worked on has the same story. The knowledge base is out of date. Everybody knows it's out of date. The person who wrote the original article left. The person who would update it has twelve things on their plate. New hires copy-paste Slack threads because the wiki is a minefield.

We built Tome Robot because writing docs is the wrong primitive. The actual knowledge in a company is in the work itself — in the clicks, the screen-shares, the over-the-shoulder explanations. Docs are a downstream artifact that decays the second a UI ships.

So we inverted the model. Record your work. Let Tome Robot do the transcribing, the cleaning, the grounding, the screenshotting, and — critically — the watching for drift. When the software changes, your docs notice. When a customer asks a question, the answer is the recording, not somebody's memory of a recording.

It's not magic. It's a pipeline: Whisper for transcripts, grounded LLM rewrites, perceptual screen hashes, nightly drift scans, and a human in the loop to publish. The magic is that you stop being the human in the writing loop.
